Hello my name is Appolonia or Appy,
Born and raised in Texas, I'm a military wife and proud mother of three lively boys. When I'm not juggling the delightful chaos of family life, I can be found savoring a spine chilling horror novel or indulging in a marathon of eerie films, because really, one must keep life a bit thrilling, wouldn't you agree?
My Story
I’m a Clinical Social Worker Intern with a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Kentucky, where I am also pursuing my Doctorate in Social Work (DSW). I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University, as well as certifications in Clinical Social Work and Military Behavioral Health.
My passion lies in understanding the complexities of the human experience, particularly in the realms of relationships, personal growth, and emotional well-being. I approach therapy holistically, recognizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in fostering true healing and wellness. With a particular focus on individual therapy and relationship dynamics, I’ve had the privilege of working with military families and the LGBTQ+ community, tailoring my support to their distinct needs. My therapeutic approach combines the depth of psychodynamic principles with the precision of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practices. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can explore emotional patterns, enhance communication, and initiate lasting, positive change.
